AVI Delivers Industry-Specific Training

Audio Visual Innovations, Inc. (AVI), the largest privately held, full-service audio-visual products and services provider in the U.S., was seeking an easy-to-use learning management solution to centralize all company training and reporting. AVI wanted to move training delivery online to support learning and certifications for its nationally dispersed workforce.

THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE

In the audio-visual industry there is not currently a form of higher education that gives those who wish to enter the field the necessary training. AVI was conducting industry- specific training and certification in-house via traditional instructor-led training. The bulk of the training was offered at the home office with complementary independent classes available across the country. By conducting the training in this way, AVI found it costly and difficult to keep track of training completions and certifications.

Also, employees that were located outside the home office were given the task of locating and registering for classes in their area in order to obtain the required certifications. This created a tracking and reporting challenge. The outdated process inhibited AVI from having up-to-date information about classes that employees had taken and the certifications they had completed.

THE BEST SOLUTION

AVI decided to move its training and certification program online in order to accommodate the company’s nationally dispersed workforce. When deciding to make the move to online training, learning leaders knew that the selected solution must also enable AVI to continue to develop content that met standards put forth by

InfoComm International. InfoComm International is a non-profit association serving the professional AV communications industry worldwide. This organization develops the standards and certification requirements for professionals in the AV industry.
