Coursera Partners with U of I for Master’s Degree Program

Coursera is partnering with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for a data science master’s degree. The university’s computer science program is ranked as one of the top five in the country. The Coursera program will cost less than the on-campus and online Master of Computer Science in Data Science (MCS-DS) degree.

The degree is designed specifically for data scientists and focuses on four areas of computer science: data visualization, machine learning, data mining and cloud computing. Students will also build valuable skill sets in statistics and information science with courses taught in collaboration with the university’s statistics department and ISchool. Individuals who register on Coursera will have access to all of the courses in the degree including lessons, activities and projects developed by award-winning university faculty. Learners who are accepted into the program must also complete additional course assessments with access to guidance, feedback and support from university faculty and staff.
