Executives Use Confidence in the Economy to Set Strategies

The findings in a survey from Deloitte Growth Enterprise Services show how mid-market companies are translating increased confidence in the economy into action: hiring new employees, investing in new technology solutions and other equipment, and acquiring businesses to reach new markets.

Key findings:

>> 45% of mid-market executives are “extremely” or “very” confident that the economy will continue to improve over the next 24 months — compared to just 10 percent in spring 2014.

>> 63% say they expect to increase their full-time domestic workforce in the coming year, compared to 43 percent in spring 2014.

>> 46% say they are likely, or very likely, to purchase another company in the coming year, a significant jump from the 31 percent who held the same view just six months ago.
