Serious Games Showcase & Challenge, which recognizes excellence in the field of serious games development, announced its 2014 finalists, narrowing down the field of submissions to only 19 games. A panel of evaluators will now review the finalists and determine the winners in the Business, Government and Student categories. Some of the finalists are also competing for the Best Mobile Game, Students’ Choice and Special Emphasis Award categories.
The 2014 SGS&C finalists in the Business category are: Sound Scouts by cmee4 Productions, DragonBox Elements by WeWantToKnow AS; The Underground Railroad by Muzzy Lane Software, National Geographic Education; The Radix Endeavor by The Education Arcade; Info Sentinel – Travel Security by MAVI Interactive; Hungry Birds by Digital Glass LLC; Lifting with Scissors by Serious Labs; Far-Plane – Beyond Boundaries by Triad Interactive Media, Inc.; Gate by New Mexico State University Learning Games Lab; Nanocrafter by University of Washington Center for Game Science; Robot Factory by Simcoach Games; Combat Medic by Virtual Heroes; and Awareness Combats Trafficking by Engineering & Computer Simulations, Inc.
In the Government category, the finalists are: Czechoslovakia 38-89 by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic; Eagle Eye by the U.S. Army PdM-Ground Maneuver; and Strike Group Defender by the Office of Naval Research and MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
