Janet Clarey Joins Elearning! Media Group

Elearning! and Government Elearning! magazines, the industry voice of the $160 billion enterprise learning market, have announced the appointment of Janet Clarey as Technology Editor. She joins the eleven-time award-winning magazine group on August 17th, 2010.

Clarey’s extensive experience in the e-learning market is well documented. Formerly with Brandon-Hall Research Group, She has authored many learning research studies, hosted seminars and conferences as well as topical blogs.

“Her expertise on curriculum, instructional design, e-learning and learning technology are a welcome addition to our award-winning team,” says editorial director Jerry Roche. “Her extensive hands-on experience in the field of e-learning will further help us to provide readers with real-world applications of cutting-edge learning and technology solutions.”

Clarey has led face-to-face and online workshops on the topic of e-learning throughout the world and also has presented and keynoted at learning industry conferences. Her current obsession is social learning through new media.

Clarey’s insights are highly regarded and sought out.  “Janet is a fantastic source for generational trends and Web 2.0 coverage. Her presentations are incredibly insightful,” says Rachael Bourque, Global Research Analyst, Raytheon

Clarey’s recent blog post gives you insight to her new role. She quotes “The Power to Pull”:

“When it comes to the written word, this new generation of editors won’t just edit content developed by their own publications, they’ll focus on curating… a much broader range of third-part content available throughout the Internet. Some of these editors will likely focus on tracking the emergence of promising new edges, searching out the most promising content from the edges to help their audience sort out the signal from the noise.”

“That, for me, is “perfect fit” work. That’s the type of editing I’m hoping to do. It’ll be nice to focus on an area I’m passionate about (at Elearning!),” says Clarey.

”We are thrilled to have Janet join us. She complements our team well and will contribute to our magazines, seminars and social initiatives,” reports Catherine Upton, Group Publisher, Elearning! Media Group.

Clarey lives in New York State with her husband and three children, working from her home office. Clarey is currently pursuing a Ph.D from Syracuse University. She also continues to do independent research and social media education while being active in L&D social networks. Clarey can be reached via e-mail at jclarey@2elearning.com or 888-201-2841 x849.
