New CIO Predicts a Social Network for Every Citizen

President Obama recently appointed a new Federal CIO, Vivek Kundra.  In this interview, Kundra outlines his perspective on collaboration  and open-sourcing. "Kundra has been  the CIO of Washington, DC and is  interested in building the equivalent of a Facebook  for each citizen  – where they can select the level of information feeds that will confidentially come to a personal secure site," reports Elliot Masie  of The Masie Center. Citizens could then create their own landing  page where they can track individual information like Social  Security payments, track federal spending from recovery.gov or votes  from their local representatives.  Hear Kundra’s first conference call outlining how technology could be used quite differently
