The recent acquisition of SumTotal by cloud-based solutions, learning company Skillsoft will create one of the largest learning, content and talent management systems companies in the world. Skillsoft, with headquarters based in Dublin, Ireland, earlier this year acquired SumTotal, a software company based in Gainesville, Florida that provides human resource management software and services to private and public sector organizations.
With the global deficit of skilled workers expected to reach 85 million within five years and coupled with the critical need for sourcing developed talent, the newly combined company will provide a comprehensive solution that enables companies to cultivate an evergreen source of talent with new and current employees.
The new learning management platform created by the merger will help companies compete, succeed and mitigate potential learning crises, with a learning-centric talent expansion suite.
“Skillsoft’s acquisition of SumTotal will create a combined company that will offer a comprehensive portfolio of content-rich, HR solutions that brings together Skillsoft’s deep expertise in learning assets, methodologies, and rich systems of engagement with SumTotal’s full suite of highly scalable unified Talent Expansion solutions,” says Chuck Moran, Skillsoft CEO, President and Chairman.
Skillsoft’s new Learning-centric Talent Expansion suite will provide a full range of talent development and learning management solutions offering not only a system of engagement, but also a system of record, by utilizing SumTotal’s LMS platform.
This one-of-a-kind solution features an open learning and content platform to deliver an engaging experience with relevant, just-in-time, personalized and contextual delivery.
