LinkedIn App Helps Students Find Jobs

LinkedIn is doing away with its current student services May 16 in favor of a new app, LinkedIn Students, launched in late April. The app is meant to be a less-intimidating way to help students find jobs — it asks where the student goes to college, what his or her major is, and his or her expected graduation date – then, the app matches students with alumni in similar fields, recommends jobs in the students’ network and suggested reading.

LinkedIn reports that more 2015 graduates found jobs through it in the technology and professional services sectors than in any other industry.
